Information for Club Members

Memberships are active from August 1 to July 31 of each year.

This gives you the opportunity to submit images for the monthly theme that is presented at each meeting. Please refer to the submission instructions for information on the optimal image resolution and where and when to submit your image.

Club members also have the opportunity to present their photos during the meeting by submitting photo shows related to specific themes. This includes a “photo essay” and “secret assignment” that is based on a theme selected blindly by the artist. The Lethbridge Photo Club hosts Photo Fusion for members and the general public. Photo shows created by club members are presented over 2 evenings in March.

Refer to these tips and instructions (PDF) for creating and photo shows.

As a group, club members are also able to display their works in public exhibits during special events or in art galleries. Previous opportunities to show our works included the “Celebrating Canada” exhibition at Casa (March 4 to April 15, 2017) and the “Nature’s Lens” exhibit at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre (April 15 – June 24, 2018).

A variety of field trips are organized for members throughout the year, providing opportunities to get to know each other better and learn from one another. Our field trips include local sites, beautiful locations within 200 km of Lethbridge, and exclusive access to interesting venues.

The Lethbridge Photography Club by-laws are available here:
Photo Club Bylaw Jan 2008.
The bylaws were last updated in 2008 and describe several conditions of the Club, roles and responsibilities of the executive members, and the financial and management rules.
